Rotary Club of Iquitos, Peru

The strong results from the Water for Life grant were shared with the Rotary club of Iquitos, Peru in their December 2nd meeting. Brian Landever shared data and pictures, proud to report that filter users experienced a 100% reduction in stomach pains and diarrhea.

100 filters were provided by this grant, and 49 additional filters were provided by additional private donors. This served a total population of 704 people. On a daily basis this provided 2015 liters of filtered water since March, 2020.

Our filters are always delivered with hands-on workshops to ensure users feel comfortable filtering water and cleaning filters. After 10 months of use, 100% of users were following through by cleaning their filters.

We are grateful to the Rotary clubs of Flatiron Boulder and Iquitos for collaborating in the application for this grant. The immense benefit it has brought rural citizens in Peru is invaluable. We also thank local partner CONAPAC for interviewing the filter users in November, 2020, and collecting important data.
